Joyce is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. She completed her M.A. in counseling from Midwestern Baptist Seminary and also obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Chung-Ang University in Seoul. She is now in the M.Div. program at McCormick Theological Seminary.

Joyce, a first-generation immigrant and church minister, has walked alongside and empathized with the Korean community. For her, counseling is a journey of light, where she walks together with clients to find hope, healing, and abundant life. She believes that exploring the emotional patterns that affect suffering and fostering an empathic, collaborative relationship is supportive to discover true self and the direction to move towards meaning and joy of life.

She enjoys working with individual adults, seniors, and couples. She has served as a church minister and counselor, gaining extensive experience in addressing depression, anxiety, relational issues, grief and loss, life transitions, PTSD, marriage and family, parenting and career guidance, ministry stress, and faith-based counseling.

In her free time, Joyce enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, singing, walking, and exercising.
